Founded in May 1923 as the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ATO is as old as the Republic itself and first operated in a building on Anafartalar Street.
It is no coincidence that the chamber was established a few months after the İzmir Economics Congress. On 22 April 1925 Law No. 655 on Chambers of Commerce and Industry was enacted, and in 1926 the chamber gained legal personality with 350 merchants and 800 small traders and craftsmen.
After the Ankara Chamber of Industry was founded in 1964, the institution was reorganized as the Ankara Chamber of Commerce.
With more than 160,000 members, ATO today stands for dynamism, innovation and communication.
